Pre Harvest Treatment Preparation and Process
A clean, pest-free grain store starts with smart preparation. We recommend that before the treatment you inspect and clean cracks and roof voids, sealing gaps and holes to prevent pest ingress. It is also important that there is a thorough cleaning of all surfaces, from top to bottom removing all old grain and dust, especially from under floors or around drying systems. This is a painstaking but important process, which we are happy to help with as part of your pre-harvest preparation.
Once the store is cleaned and prepped we can begin the treatment application:
- High-pressure spray application reaches all areas, including roof spaces that knapsack sprayers can’t.
- We use K-Obiol® EC25, a proven insecticide that protects against most stored product pests for up to 2 months.
- Best applied 4 – 6 weeks before harvest to kill all insect life stages before new grain arrives.
